The Author

Ian McNulty is a New Orleans-based journalist and radio commentator.

His previous book Season of Night is a narrative about the surreal, tenuous first months of life in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

He is a staff writer for the daily New Orleans Advocate newspaper and his radio program Where Y’Eat is a weekly commentary on food culture that is broadcast on National Public Radio (NPR) in New Orleans.

He resides in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans, his home base for ongoing rambles around Louisiana and elsewhere.
